In 1983, while studying Yeats in graduate school at San Francisco State University, I found Swedenborg’s name and out of curiosity attended a Sunday service at the San Francisco Church.  Upon entering the chapel and then listening to Rev. Edwin Capon’s message, I knew I had found the church I didn’t know I was missing.  Fast forward to 2006, when after living and working in the East Bay for several years, I joined the El Cerrito church, Hillside, an Urban Sanctuary.  After retiring from educational administration, I answered a call to the ministry, becoming a licensed pastor in 2019 under the guidance of Rev. Dr. James Lawrence.  These past 6 years as an LP at Hillside, working with Rev. Thomas Muller, have deepened my devotion and strengthened my spiritual muscles.  During a visit to Taiwan in May 2025, I experienced daily connections with the Divine and received a clear call to ordination shorty after returning home.  The Nunc Licet Fellowship has made the answer to this call possible, and I am now on the ordination path at the GTU in Berkeley.  My sincere gratitude to the Center for Swedenborgian Studies and the generous donors for providing the funds for tuition, that we may continue to serve the Swedenborgian Church of North America in the very best way we can.   謝謝! Thank you!
